Beams
All of our beams are made from Rustic grade, live sawn White Oak. The natural checks, knots and grain variation make this the perfect wood to replicate reclaimed material. Our beams are not solid, we fabricate them as hollow boxes using our solid New BarnWood boards, this allows us the flexibility to make beams in varied sizes and shapes. As expected, our boxed beams are lighter and easier to work with than a solid alternative. All we need are the specifications and will make your beams to size.
Finishes
Our New BarnWood Beams are available in our Gateways finish (weathered gray) and our Eastwood finish (classic oak).
Milling
We use lock miter joints at all corners to ensure a tight, clean and permanent joint. One-piece beam lengths are available from 4’ to 12’. For projects with longer spans we offer 3 joint options, lap-joint, scarf-joint or butt-joint. Additionally, we can supply solid metal beam straps, in both smooth and hammered texture. Our joint ends are not grain matched, each beam is unique and joint seams will be visible to the eye. Standard widths are 3” to 9”, and extended widths can be achieved with glued up seams.
